Our History
After their first organization, Delta Sigma Rho, a national business
fraternity, faced member disqualification due to a restructuring of
the business school as well as some national issues, the members had
disaffiliated and were looking for a new organization to join. In
their search they had come across Phi Delta Theta, a fraternity built
on three cardinal Principles: Friendship, Sound Learning, and
Rectitude. These principles were exactly what they had been searching
for out of and organization. And so, Phi Delta Theta was officially
chartered here on RIT's campus, February 8th, 1986, with a founding
class of 39 members. In 2017, our chapter was placed in escrow until
our refounding in 2019. Since then, Phi Delta Theta has been helping
the men of RIT become the best versions of themselves.
